Jon Bokenkamp, Writer/Producer. Kearney, NE

Jon Bokenkamp is the creator/executive producer of NBC’s one-hour drama, The Blacklist (2013).  He is also known for Taking Lives (2004), a mystery/thriller starring Angelina Jolie, Ethan Hawke, and Kiefer Sutherland, as well as The Call (2013), a crime thriller starring Halle Berry.  Jon graduated from USC School of Cinema-Television (1995).

Born in Kearney, Jon returned to his hometown in 2007 and became active in the effort to restore the World Theater.  The theater reopened in June 2012 and often holds private screenings of Jon’s hit series, The Blacklist.  The grand reopening weekend featured a champagne reception and Q&A panel with Academy Award winner, Alexander Payne, a native of Omaha.  For his efforts, Jon received the 2013 Hub Freedom Award for Arts and Entertainment.
